Johan Lambeck
Johan Lambeck, B.P.T., owns an Aquatic Therapy (Hydrotherapy) Consultancy in Malden, the Netherlands.
From 1979 – 1997 he was in charge of the Department of Hydrotherapy at the Sint Maartenskliniek, www.maartenskliniek.nl , Europe’s only Medical Centre entirely devoted to diseases of the neuro-locomotor system of both adults and children (neurology, orthopaedics, rheumatology, paediatrics, cardiology).
He is a Senior Halliwick Lecturer IHA/IHTN, (co-)author of 5 books, a CD and 19 published articles on hydrotherapy. In 1998 he was named the Aquatic Therapy Professional in the United States and is the coordinator of the aquatic therapy courses in Valens/Bad Ragaz, Switzerland. Co-founder of the International Halliwick Association (1994), the Bad Ragaz Ring Method Foundation (2001) and the International Halliwick Therapy Network (2006). Per 2002 member of the International Society for Medical Hydrology and per 2005 member of the Cochrane review group on balneology for RA and OA. He was in charge of developing the national Dutch adapted aquatics programme of the Ministry of Health and Sports, first pilot started September 2004. As per 2005 affiliated as external expert to the university of Leuven, Belgium., mediating a European Union project to establish an EU wide expert system in aquatic therapy (Erasmus network). Johan is visiting lecturer at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Toledo, Spain.
Since 1983 he has taught over 600 hydrotherapy seminars in 30 countries around the world.
