Promoting news, courses and information from Therapeutic Concept most used and applied in different health problems in all world.

The Halliwick concept is based on principles of motor learning. It was developed in 1950 by James McMillan, British engineer specializing in Fluid Mechanics. Originally, it was a systematic approach to teach disabled people (particularly with problems of balance) to swim: 10 points Program. The final goal was independence and participation in community life. The 10 points has been gradually adapted to (physio)therapeutic goals at this stage called Water Specific Therapy.

Therapeutic Halliwick uses both concepts - 10 points Program and Water Specific Therapy - are inter-related. Goals and objectives at all different levels of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health - ICF (WHO, 2001) can be sought and interconnected to logic form. The relationship with the ICF can combine goals at the levels of function, activity and participation in an integrated and holistic way. Moreover, under the Practice Base of Evidence, the legitimation of Halliwick is based on recent clinical research and research in the area of neuroscience.

Halliwick is a wonderful therapy for solving problems in an environment (water) with different parameters and restrictions and that make the inputs variables forwarded to the central nervous system. Allowing therapist to choose between several options exercises, to produce the desired therapeutic goal. Especially in the fields of neurology and pediatrics, the Halliwick is applied worldwide. It also their value in the field of orthopedics and rheumatology
